Why a pixel grid matters
A normal pixel art preview can look correct on screen but still be awkward to rebuild by hand. A visible grid turns every color square into a countable unit. That makes it useful for cross stitch, fuse beads, diamond painting, LEGO mosaics, and classroom graph-paper projects. The 32x32 preset keeps small projects manageable, while 64x64 preserves more detail for larger patterns. Because the cell boundaries are included in the exported PNG, you can print the file or keep it beside your materials without estimating where one pixel ends and the next begins.
Start with an image that has a clear subject and simple background. If the 64x64 result contains too many tiny color changes, switch to 32x32 and compare the silhouette. For physical projects, count the available rows and columns before buying materials. The converter processes the source image locally in your browser, so personal photographs are not sent to Pixelater or stored on a server.
